5. Avoid activities near the waters at night time
Clean your residence regularly using running water to clean household equipment.
If you have a water reservoir such as a pond, you should spread mosquito-eating fish.
If you have a water storage tub (for bathing or drinking), it should be covered and only opened while in use.
Even though you're sleeping in a closed room, you can't be completely sure that the room is free of mosquitoes. Therefore, complete the bed with mosquito nets or gauze. Better yet, if the mosquito nets are sprayed with insecticide.
Malaria-spreading mosquito is more active at night. Avoid activities near water (lakes, rice fields, rivers) at night, especially in malaria-endemic areas. If you must, wear closed clothing (long sleeves, sarong).
